Emma is an artist, teacher and magpie of all things creative. Having graduated from the University of Leeds with an Honours Degree in Fine Art Sculpture, gained at the beautiful Yorkshire Sculpture Park at Bretton Hall University, Emma went on to share her passion for creativity as a teacher of Art & Design. She worked with children and aspiring young artists for over eighteen years, inspiring and nurturing their talents, helping to develop their love of the world around them.
From this classroom background, 'Also Emma' was born in 2014 from Emma’s desire to embed her own passions into beautiful and tangible objects, and to share her creations with others. Her pieces are honest and everyday, designed to complement and mix with existing pieces from clients’ own collections. And yet, each piece is unique, handmade, and designed with a specific memory, feeling or place in mind.
‘Also Emma’ is jewellery with a story of its own. Based on archived sketches, collected images, and objects that Emma has found over the years, ‘Also Emma’ pieces are inspired by family connections and historical links to living on the Lincolnshire coast. ‘Also Emma’ jewellery takes inspiration from many things: the simple nostalgia of donkey rides on Cleethorpes beach, childhood memories of woodland walks collecting natural treasures found on the ground, from family links to maritime services. For every piece inspired by a special coastal find or a forest floor treasure, ‘Also Emma’ designs represent something special. Not least the support, belief and love from Emma’s own family and friends, and the many wise words from those whom she admires.
Let the adventures continue!
